Due to popular demand we have finally sorted the player stats, which are fully up to date and include goals, assists and man of the match awards from cup games. After being dumped out of the Kitson Cup by Wayfarers, it leaves the County Trophy and the Presidents Cup to fight for - as well as a shot at the league.
Form dipped before Christmas, and the confidence gained from a 9 game winning streak seemed to fade a bit. The draw at LS Galaxy left us 11 points adrift of leaders Airman Athletic Reserves, with a game in hand. The good news is that the crucial 6 pointers home and away against Airman and Langdon Park are still to be played, as well as the games between the two where they will take points off each other. We only get supplied fixtures one month at a time, so expect these all to come in very quick succession probably over Feb/March. A good run during those months will define our season.
The squad has increased to 21 with new signings in January, which is good for the health of the club and for competition for places. The flip side of this is having to leave players out of the side, and 7 players each week won't even make the match day squad. This will lead to some harsh decisions, and we won't be able to please everybody all of the time. Keep coming to training and playing well and your chances are good. We'll try and keep things as fair as possible.
Don't forget to place your vote on who is the ugliest of the Falcons.

Congratulations to Carl Watson for winning this months poll. Carl beat off Joe Clark by just one vote to clinch the 'Who is the ugliest' title for 2012. Carl, pictured above, was spotted tongueing John Terry by papparazi last week after John Terry had asked for an autograph and photo from the Falcons star.
John Terry went on to say "I was a bit star struck at first but plucked up the courage to say hello and then tongue him. I'm really chuffed at finally getting the chance to tongue one of my Falcon heroes."
This caps a good week for Carl, as he was also awarded the Man of the Match award for his performance against Barnes Albion. |
